You can't recharge an Electric Vehicle on wishful thinking

EV Infrastructure

General Goals

  1. Build out intercity EV charging infrastructure across Canada inspired by Ontario's ONroutes

  2. Make every stop a destination where people would enjoy/not mind spending half an hour or more

Additional Goals

  1. Make it a hub that nearby small town residents would like to visit as part of the rural plan (coming soon)

  2. Flexible charging capacity that can be increased or decreased depending on EV usage uptick

Notes

  1. Funded through the existing gas taxes

  2. Start out in between major population centers

    • Quebec City - Windsor corridor

    • The prairie triangle

    • Equivalents in BC and the Maritimes

  3. General features:

    • A traditional gas station

    • A large number of standardized EV charging spots

      • Fast and slower chargers depending on cost

    • A large building with

      • Restaurants

      • Coffee shop

      • Convenience store

      • Seating area

      • Some locally run shops

      • A space showcasing the history of the area

        1. First Nations

        2. Colonial era

        3. Modern day

      • A rentable event space

        • Because the locals felt like

        • A provincial/federal public event

        • A traveling troupe type of deal

      • Playgrounds or the like for kids to spend time

      • Wifi

    • An outdoor attraction/art installation like the dinos on the QC -> Montreal route

  4. The architecture and attractions will aim to be unique to each location

    1. Different architects for different stations

    2. Consult locals on what sort of attraction/art installments they would like

  5. Make sure that restaurants and cafes are not monopolized by a handful of large corpos

  6. Look into adding bus routes to connect nearby towns to the stations
