We have 6 attitudes that colour our world-view. Together with our 10 principles they form the basis of our values, policies, and priorities.
The ends and the means go hand-in-hand.
These attitudes are:
Balance: As all things should be.
Long-term Focus: To not lose sight of what matters.
Tolerance: Important for society and democracy to function.
Flexibility: Quickly adapting to circumstances keeps us steady.
Pragmatism: Decisions are better based on evidence than stubbornness.
Cynical Optimism: Expect the best, prepare for the worst.
There are nuances, so in following blog posts I will be expanding on each of the above points. In the meantime, you can see our spirit and foundations in action within our values, policies, and priorities.
Clarifying Note
Point 2: Long-term here is roughly 10 years and above.
